Overview

The 2012 Honda Accord still enjoys a rank at the top as a top family sedan. It has a big interior which is typically considered by EPA standards to be among the “large cars”, but the external dimensions put it squarely in the mid-size category. Accessories make it possible to have the vehicle well-appointed, as well as, the ability to purchase the V6 model which offers speed and agility. The standard issue is the sedan, but you can opt for the coupe instead. The coupe comes with a 6-speed manual transmission while the sedan has a 5-speed manual transmission with the option to have a 5-speed automatic.

The EX trim level offers upgrades from the LX trim. Such things as 17-inch alloy wheels, six disc CD changer, sunroof, a more powerful four cylinder engine, and heated mirrors. The EX models have upgraded engines which allow for 190 horsepower from the same engine.

Review

The 2012 Honda Accord is a perfect car for those looking for a ride suitable for a small family. Options and upgrades make it preferable for those looking for something a little sporty as well. Those who liked the 2012 Honda Accord also have enjoyed the Toyota Camry and the Hyundai Sonata. If power is something that you need, make sure that you are gravitating towards the LX-S or EX models. While these do have some road noise, they still offer huge interior and options to make you happy.

Safety

The braking power of the 2012 Honda Accord uses antilock disc brakes for stopping power of 130 feet from 60 mph. Side curtain airbags along with front airbags allow for additional safety. Stability and traction control help to keep you on the road. Active front head restraints maintain your head steady in case of an accident.

Crash tests for the vehicle offered a “good’ rating for front impact tests which is the highest rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The second best rating of “acceptable” was given for side impact tests. The car was awarded a total of five stars from the government for both front and side impact crash tests.
