Overview

The 2012 Audi Q5 is a crossover that is comfortable and simply performs great. With class leading craftsmanship, great fuel economy and handling, and a spacious back seat, the Q5 is definitely a fan favorite. Coming in two different trim packages, you could expect to spend between $35,000 and $43,000 for a brand new 2012 Audi Q5. You can also expect to get around 20 mpg in the city and 30 mpg when out on the open highway. Considering the blend of elegance, performance, and luxury that you will receive from this car, it is considered to be worth every last penny.

Pricing

Though the 2012 Audi Q5 2.0T Premium Quattro is considered the lesser of the two trim packages it is still quite an impressive automobile. All in all, the price of $35,500 does not sound that bad when you take into consideration all of the upgrades that come standard with the Premium trim level.

The other option that you have for the 2012 Audi Q5 is the top of the line 3.2 Premium Plus Quattro. This model costs around $43,000 but is worth every penny if you’re into luxurious accommodations.

Specs

The 2012 Audi Q5 2.0T Premium Quattro comes standard with a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that is known for its get up and go. This same engine will get you great gas mileage as you can expect 30 miles per gallon on the highway. To top it all off, some of the other features that will come with the 2.0T is all-wheel drive, an MP3 player, satellite radio, 18-inch wheels, automatic headlights, automatic wipers, roof rails, telescoping steering wheel, leather, climate control, and a premium sound system.

2012 Audi Q5 Premium Plus Quattro not only will get great fuel economy from the 3.2L V6 engine but you will also get a myriad of other high end features in the all-wheel drive crossover. These additional features include things such as Bluetooth technology, iPod input, satellite radio, 19-inch wheels, headlight washers, keyless ignition, blind spot warning system, a premium sound system and a touch screen navigation plus package. This is all in addition to all of the features that come standard with the Q5 2.0T Premium.

In terms of performance, both of these trim levels have exceptional engines that perform well. The engine in the 2.0T can go from 0-60 in 6.8 seconds. Surprisingly the 3.2 is a bit slower going from 0-60 in 7.0 seconds flat.

Review

When you look at other crossovers that you could compare to the Audi Q5 you will see that they’re not so much up to par. Though the Mazda CX7S and the Infinity EX35 are great vehicles, the Q5 is really the true gem of the bunch. The blend of features makes this car a pleasure to drive no matter who you are. However, it is also ideal for a family that wants to travel in style. With a roomy interior there is plenty of room in the backseat for the kids to move around and have space. The front seats are comfortable as they come with everything that the driver or the passenger needs within arm’s reach—Also, anyone could easily control the climate from the dash or turn up the radio right from the volume controls mounted on the steering wheel.

Safety

There is also a wide array of safety feature that come standard in both 2012 Audi Q5 models. Central to these features are traction control, front side airbags and side curtain airbags. Furthermore, the Q5 has been proven to be very safe regardless of the conditions that it is being driven in. This will give the driver peace of mind knowing that their family will be well protected in the event of an unfortunate accident.
